Model Masters Sealer Q

Post by Burke »

Im spraying my NX-01 with MM Magnesium before i put down the AztekDummy vinyls. In the instructions is says to seal it before putting them down and so forth. Do I have to use MM Sealer or can I use a Krylon(or alternate brand) clear cote (matte or whatever)? My local Hobby store is far away and I dont think my Micheals carrys MM Sealer....

This is my first Model is over ten years...I dont want to F it up too bad lol...

I'd recommend using their sealer... I've had mixed results using other sealers over MM metallic.

MM metalizer paints are an odd duck. They're a synthetic lacquer (which isn't odd as most lacquers now-a-days are synthetic) that isn't like all the other lacquers. Quite soft for a lacquer paint. For this reason I too recommend using their sealer & will often put a coat of Future over the top of that, as MM metalizers don't like to be masked.
