The names have been changed to protect the guilty. Unless they confess in which case they were guilty already.

Sounds like a joke. This is something we round here sometimes, take one sentence and throw out humorous variations.

Just in case you're not aware my post was a quote of the opening line from ADAm-12 television show which aired back in 1968 and ran for about 7 years.

Uhm...Actually...I think you mean Dragnet

although IIRC there were several cop procedurals that would claim being based on true stories and "the names had been changed to protect the innocent". Jack Webb who produced Dragnet would pay $25 dollars to cops that would send in their "true stories" for episode ideas. It's more dramatic as a voice over than as tiny lettering on the end credits at any rate.

As for catchphrases, I think there were few cop shows (or shows of any kind for that matter) that didn't make some use of a catchphrase that would get thrown regularly like "book him Danno" or "Who loves ya baby".

It was either Dragnet or Adam=12, both of which were created by Jack Webb, and I want to say he did it under the name of RA Cinader. And there were a couple of cross over episode between the 2 shows.

Loading speed appears to vary with time of day.
From where I sit in US central time, the slowest loading times are at east coast morning rush time & around the time the kids would be getting home from school in the later afternoon.
Plus frequently at 'after supper' time and during prime time TV time.

Additionally:

Have also been intermittently getting a white page with
"
Too Many Requests
The user has sent too many requests in a given amount of time
"
in upper left corner
with tab labeled "429 Too Many Requests"

Given that has happened several times when SSM was first thing I clicked on after starting this laptop, I'm pretty sure it isn't me who is making those too many requests.
Sometimes it is when clicking toolbar bookmark to go to the forums.
Sometimes it is when clicking options to get new posts.
Sometimes it is when clicking to go to a topic from the new posts listing.

Also a point of interest, it only happens with THIS website among all the sites I visit in 3 different browsers.

AND it happened just now upon clicking to submit this.
And it happened twice in Google Chrome.
So, moved over to Firefox and obviously got this posted.

Yeah, I've lost posts lately because the screen just goes white when I hit post, and that's the end of it. Post is gone, and the board stops responding. :/

Couldn't access the site at all yesterday. Kept getting the "Too many requests" thing again.

Again why are the moderators so silent? Or do they want the site to shut down?

I do think we have any Moderators active on this site anymore- if there are they log in very rarely.

Most of the time this site does not even open for me ay any level- regardless of browser. I am still needing to access the thread I started in Real Space for the hi res imagery and I cannot do that even
