Plexiglas tips

Post by max142 »

Howdy kind reader,
I recently purchased some Plexiglas for Home Depot. I have never used this material before. Does anyone have any tips....glue, can you glue styrene details to Plexiglas....etc.

I'm thinking I would make a good sturdy box hull.

I believe it is a solvent type glue, i could be wrong. Many places sell it.

To glue styrene to plexi, you might want to try 5 min 2 part epoxy.

I always used Weld-on #3 in a needle bottle. It also glue styrene bits to the plexi. It may be hard to find though.

thanks again.
Some time ago, someone posted a scratch build of a warlock from B5. Does anyone remember who this was? I saved every image but not the thread.

I'd done a scratch of that ship awhile back, but I used Sintra, not plexi:

Joe: do you have any build pictures? I remember your entry and had saved your images back then.

Sadly, no build pics.

I had played around with sculpting that one in foam, and gotten it to the mock-up stage. I realized that while doing it that way would be OK for tabletop gaming, what I really wanted was a display model, and so shifted the build to signboard/Sintra.

It was back in the pre-digital days while I still used my trusty 35mm camera, or I would have taken build shots.
