Aluminum tape where to get it?

Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

Something other than the metal ducting tape?

I think it's called aluminum tape, not sure.. .but you can use it to put on model cars and such where there are areas supposed to be painted chrome but it gives it a more real touch...

Hmmm, there's the ducting tape, movie projection uses a thin aluminum tape to signal things, and then there's the Bare Metal Foil stuff.

Don't know where I'd get projection tape anymore.

You can get adhesive backed aluminum foil tape at your LHS. Especially if they cater to RC airplane enthusiasts. Usually sold in long sheets.

You can get it at aftermarket automotive stores too, and IIRC Lowes and Home Depot. Yes, I mean the shiney metal foil adhesive backed tape.

You can also go to a hardware store or a heating/ducting contractor's store...I'm a commercial plumber, and I run into the stuff all the time.

Have fun!
