ccfl and led problem

Post by coombes123 »

ive used four ccfl tubes and several leds in my enterprise e model. i tested the ccfl's then the leds before sealing the model. stupidly i didnt test them all together.
when i power leds and ccfl the blue nacelle leds dim right down. as soon as the ccfl's are turned off the leds brighten right up.
only the blue leds dim. if i use a seperate power adapter for leds and one for ccfl's they are all fine.
does any one with any electronics experience have any ideas that doesnt require two power sources?
this all runs on 12v
could a higher rated power adapter work?
i suppose it will teach me to test properly in future.

It sounds like you don't have enough amperage from your 12 volt power supply to run the CCFLs and the LEDs together. So, you might try a power supply with a higher amperage rating first.

En'til Zog is correct. Use an AC adapter with a higher current rating.
