Generic lighting kits?

Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

Generic lighting kits?

Post by davehal9000 »

I'm scratchbuilding a model, and I'd like to light it. There's really not much to the lighting, maybe 2 LEDs and about 12 fiber optics. Does anyone make a kit I could just slap in place instead of having to learn electronics?

Find the nearest hobby store that caters to the model train crowd. They've got all sorts of basic kits.

Found these kits at Federation Models; I've not used them nor do I have any experience with lights, but these appear to be what you're looking for.

That's about what I'm looking for, but I think I'd rather have one run off a wall outlet.

You can change the connection so it is hooked up to a 9V AC Adapter. It just takes some splicing.
