Recommendations for base color of snow speeder

Post by Glorfindel »

Thinking of going with Tamiya Sky gray. Is there another color that would be better suited?

I'm new to the board and just read your post, so sorry for posting several months after asking. I have used, with very pleasant results, a generic flat gray primer in a spray can. I think I purchased it at either Home Depot or Walmart. Many of the varying shades of gray used for aircraft model finishing seem to compliment with it well.

Here is a sampling of it on my snowspeeder.

Here is the same color, under different light, on Vader's Tie Fighter.

Just about everything in Star Wars is Camouflage Grey. Only some of the Imperial stuff is a different color.
I speak of the pompatous of plastic.
