Do-it yourself lighting kit

Post by BDK »

Lighting newbie here with a question for all the experienced modelers. I just got my PL E refit the other day and all I can say is HOLY CRAP that's a big freaking model!!!! I'm impressed with the whole thing from top to bottom and can't wait to put her together. While I have experience in construction and airbrushing, I have zero in lighting. Naturally I looked around the web for alternatives and found a ready-to-install kit from TrekModeler. It's billed as a "do-it-yourself" lighting kit with everything needed to fully illumiate the E. Does anyone know how well a novice would do with a kit like this one? I have a few other projects ahead of the E so I have time to practice.

Thoughts?

thanks

Is this plastic thingy on the counter a model part or can I throw it away?

VoodooFX has a pretty good kit for lighting the Refit.
