Polar light 1/350 enterprise refit lighting plan

Post by Chuck731 »

I am planning to build a 1/350 polar light refit enterprise with lighting. I am doing some early stage planning. Not having had too much experience, I have some question that I need some help with answering.

I am planning for the lighting to consist of the following circuits:

Circuit 1. Normal white interior lights, including hanger lights.

Cuicuit 2, dim red interior lights, including hanger lights, to simulate red alert

Cuicuit 3, thruster light, hanger floor chase lights, blue lights around hanger bay door, navigation flashers and blinkers

Circuit 4, external livery lights

Circuit 5. Impulse engine lights, orange deflector lights

Circuit 6. Blue deflector lights

Circuit 7. Warp nacelle purple lights

Circuit 8. Torpedo tube orange lights with Tmp blue torpedo flash

My questions are:

1. Is there any way to make the switches for these circuits completely concealed, ie no exposed toggle switch? I am wondering if three might me magnetically activated switch with opens and closes circuits when a magnet is passed over it.

2. is there any very compact 3 way switches for switching either circuit 1 or 2 but not both at the same time?

3. Is it safe to use circuit one and two as master circuits, so that if they are not on, nothing else can be on?
