What does 'solvent" based mean? Does it affect the way you thin the Mr. Hobby paint?

Yes. Make sure you get the thinner reccomended on the label.

It means it's lacquer based and will need to be thinned with lacquer thinner, tho' you'll get better results with Mr. Color Leveling Thinner.

This is for the Mr. Hobby Mr. Color line of paints...
