Defogging clear parts.

Post by Callandor »

Is it possible to defog clear parts? I am working on the AMT DS9 runabout. I tried tinting the windows with some enamel window tint. The paint was a bit old and it came out looking pretty bad. I used some thinner to strip the paint off, but it fogged up the windows. Is there a way to undo the fogging or am I just out of luck? Would putting a coat of future on them help?

Your best bet is to polish it with Novus before applying the Future.

Also, what is a good window tint? I have not had good luck with the testor enamel stuff.

Enamel is a pain - for tinting windows use an Acrylic product

Model Master Acryl has several clear colors - I used the Clear Orange on my TSR-2 Canopy

Window tint = India Ink in Future. Any color you want, just make sure it's India Ink and not calligraphy ink. You want dye not pigment.
