NEED PAINTING MASKS INFORMATION PLEASE

Post by BERT aka MODEL MAKER »

I want to buy the painting masks for my 1/72 columbia shuttle so i can get all of the black areas painted with nice crisp, sharp lines. since i have never used these, do you apply these masks to the white shuttle while it is white, or do you paint the entire shuttle black then paint white and have the black lines and markings after removing the masks ? I see where masks are sometimes called "airbrush masks" Is it ok to use a rattle can or do the masks require an airbrush to work correctly because of the smaller area an airbrush will provide ?

Don't post the same thing in two different forums. Use this thread:

Is this plastic thingy on the counter a model part or can I throw it away?
