I need to strip and repaint my skyhook Pl jupiter 2 replacement seats, will they be safe in castrol super clean ? that is what i use to strip my other plastic pieces?

What's it painted with? If Tamiya, Gunze or most Testor's acrylics, Windex or alcohol does just fine.

Castrol should be OK, or oven cleaner - but neither should take all too long.

they are painted testors enamels.

from the stripping ive done, its always been a cellulose thinner, ive stripped may parts very quickly so the part isnt in the stuff too long and no ill effects whatsoever, obviously im talkin resin pieces of course, :D ...lee

i always get excellent results with the castrol, but these are resin and i am not sure, geeze i would hate to find goo :shock: if i do take the chance i wonder how long to soak ?

i know that i have left my styrene parts in for days at a time, do you think that resin will release the paint faster tham styrene ?

its enamels ive used it to strip, literally seconds and it starts to move, i use a sof toothbrush then to get the paint out the recesses and no harm to the resin at all.

just please dont put any styrene parts in cellulose thinners, or youll be looking at a lil bowl of thinners and mush, good luck :D

thanks ralphee, castrol super clean works good for me, ive just never tried it on resin before and need to be certain. :D
