adherence

Post by Lavinia »

Hello!

I would ask if someone can help me!

I'm working on water slide decals, ink-jet printed using a UV-ink (it polymerizes during the printing thanks to an UV-lamp) and I must apply them on polycarbonate. after that the decoration are coated with an "I don't know protective film" and sumbitted to ageing tests in temperature and humidity chamber. The decals do not resist to this treatments since they can be easily scotch- removed after grid.

Can someone tell me if there is a way to improve the decal adherence to the substrate?

thanks

Are the decals coming off even after being coated with the sealer? Is the polycarbonate painted or sealed in any way?

You might be able to decal setting solution to help. Also are the printed decals sealed before use? I have not printed many decals but from the articles I have read, they should be sealed before use due to limitations with the paper.
