PO BOY PAINT BOOTH

Post by Gerry »

I know we've discussed it before, but I built a new paint booth tonight and thought I hadn't seen this topic around. Maybe someone new to this forum could use the information.

Paint booths can cost money, but I build mine for under $40 and it really works well. Very well. I did one last year, but I tend to paint the walls of it to test my airbrush flow so it was time to build a new one.

Here is a link to my modeling page showing pictures of my El Cheapo Paint Booth.

Those bathroom fans really suck up the air nicely!

Here's the cost.
$13.97 – bathroom exhaust fan
$9.98 – 3″ x 8′ duct
$12.97 – 18″ florescent light
$ 1.97 – cardboard box
_______
$38.89 TOTAL
I used an extention cord I had laying around and some duct tape.
Add whatever local taxes you have.

Okay, po folks like me, hope this helps save some money so you can buy more models.
Young at heart! {Other parts slightly older}

Nice design. Thanks for that. I have been looking for a PB that I can afford to make. This is the most affordable one I have seen yet.

Nice work. :tu:

You are not kidding about the cheap part. :shock: I've seen a lot of DIY booths and so many seem to only shave a few bucks off of what you could buy and not have to put any time into it...

I just might have to make one of these though. I appreciate the post. :thumbsup:

That's sad. I'm a big fan of the game of hockey. I only recently found The Hockey Song posted on YouTube. I immediately downloaded it, and usually listen to it right before Bruins games. RIP, Stompin' Tom, the hockey world will miss you.
