I've been playing with some of this material, and it's interesting stuff, a lot softer than most renshape, harder, cleaner and easier to work with than polystyrene foam, more dimensionally stable than wood.

Its exactly the same as Ren board, a urethane product. There are several different densities of Ren board, just like this stuff. Not that it matters to me, use what you feel comfortable with.

Balsa foam is manufactured near my house...but they don't like dealing direct. I have gotten some from them but they are a bit hard to work with. (foam is great)
