Were I to sculpt a piece, could someone here cast it?

Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

In clear resin. And if so, how much would it cost? End caps for Phase II Enterprise nacelles 1:537 scale. 1/8" deep, plus about 1/4-1/3" plug-insert to slide into the front of the nacelle.

I could probably make the mold, but as for the rest... the more I read about degassing and heating and stuff, I get really nervous.

They wouldn't have to be perfect; the exterior surface would have to be smooth, but tiny air bubbles would be fine. In fact, tiny air bubbles might actually enhance the look, especially when lit.
I am not a number.

Why don't you forget about the De-gassing stuff and get some of that clear resin stuff from a Micheals store and give it a try .

It's not that hard to do if you can already make the mold yourself .

And don't forget to make some pics to share with everyone .

Das Phule and Blappy both cast clear parts. You can ask Valkyrie, but he's out of the country right now (I think) and I'm not sure he does clear.

I could also do it as well.

I didn't know you were doing clear now, Jimi, or I certainly would have added you.

We should probably list contract casters somewhere here, too...

You can add me to that list too. Everyone ALWAYS over looks me. :( And I think I have been around longer too.

I know that's not what the instructions say, but the kit's wrong anyway.
