A question of scale.

A question of scale.

Post by Eagle-1 »

Folks,

I have a question on model scaling.

I'm working on a model in 1/35 scale which is scaled down from a 1/25 model. The 1/25 model uses kit bashing from several 1/600th scaled warships.

The question is, how closely does a 1/700th scale ship kit size match the 1/35 scale build as compared to the size of the 1/600th scale parts used on the 1/25 scale?

OR

what scale of the same ships would I need to use on the 1/35 scale build?

I hope that makes sense to someone.

Rob.

35 / 25 = 1.4

1.4 x 600 = 840

You's need to find a 1/840 scale model to make it work exactly. I guess you're going to have to scratchbuild many of the parts.

Thank you Mr. Oulton,

That's certainly closer than I was before!

I think there are a few 1/800 ships out there.

Probably not the ones I need though, so scratchbuilding may turn out to be the option.
