Looking for car modeling links, Ya'll

Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

Looking for car modeling links, Ya'll

Post by Reichardt, KoG »

I'm looking for links to a car/auto/truck modeling site, hopefully as GREAT as this one - any recommendations?

I've built models for yahren, learnt cars along with everything else (I used to build at family gatherings; my cousins outside playing, me inside, with the latest kit, be it (monster!) figure, plane, (!!) SF (!!!), cars, trucks, trains (eh), or them old LifeLike Bird Models.... (my cousins liked, those), or...)

So, I build cars decently here and there, but still get surprised (like the time years ago, when I got bugged at an AMT 1/32 Mercury sedan drive shaft? --it was short shot, and I got MAD  ...SF kits, fictional, discrepancies, ok, but they can go and MEASURE a dang Mercury, ya know....)

SO (whew, ) just to get expert (!) advice on cars, and the same level of conversation on those that I can get here, lemme have it....

The biggest car modeling forum on the web is http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/

Lots of good information and some very talented folks. Be forewarned, though; your typical model car-building guy is not the same type of sapien as your average science fiction modeler.

There's also Scale Auto Magazine's forum and the Car Modeling subforum at Automotivehelper.

If you don't mind the excessive ads or blatant commercialism try this one. http://www.scaleautomag.com/

Another site dealing mostly in pre-Sixties Rods and Customs. http://trakinscale.proboards.com/

Then there's the HAMB. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/grou ... roupid=105

And this one's good for blueprints of various automobiles with an International flair. http://www.smcars.net/forums/forum.php
WARNING: I can not be held responsible for the above, as apparently my cats have learned to type.
