Wonderfest Winners

Post by cbear » Tue Jun 06, 2017 3:36 pm

My wife and I had a great time at Wonderfest, but we weren't able to stay for the awards presentation. Is there a list posted anywhere?

That was my only entry so...success level = 100-percent. :)

It's a Bandai EX kit. Not too hard to find on Ebay.

I brought a dozen models, and I kinda lost track of what won what. When the winners list comes out, I'll have to untangle them. I am pretty sure what Aventine won, though. ;)

Entered seven, got four (maybe five) notables.

Garmillas Warship Squadron got a Bronze (sorry for iphone cam quality):

Merits for my Schäferwolf BattleMech, Heavy Gear Hybrid Combat Mounts, and Bandai A-Wing Fighter. I ended up with four merit certificates, though. I don't recall any of the other entries having a blue dot on the sheet, so they might have just handed me an extra one by mistake.

I figure I did pretty well for not really taking the time I should have to fix errors and improve presentation. I was just happy to be able to go again after all these years. It was great to get to see everyone again, older, wiser, and rounder as we are!

Cydonia was trying to convince me that it was trying to follow him out of the contest room because it wanted to go home with him. :8)

Just saw the awards list up. They goofed up on Jon-Luc's A.H.S. Kygo. It was a display only and not entered, don't know why they show it got a merit. Wasn't a blue dot on his form. Guess I'll need to contact George to make sure there's no confusion next year when Jon-Luc enters Kygo as finished (3.5 years and counting will be 4.5 next year).

He entered it at Eaglequest (they have different re-entry rules) and got a silver for it. His Khorne got a gold there as well. The big green knight got photos by Finescale for their upcoming Eaglequest coverage issue.
