And no "vortex" thread yet? What's going on, can anyone explain?

That doesn't start until John and Linda are AT WonderFest. It's kind of a "When the cat's away" thing.

Linda may or may not be going this year...

For all you guys coming from the North The I-65 Bridge is now a toll-bridge.
If you do not want to spend 4.00 dollars one way, I would take 31 south on the Indiana side of the river and take the 2nd Street (Clark Memorial) Bridge across the river and get back on I-65 after you get across.

And, it's not a toll booth bridge. You drive across without stopping. Then you receive a bill in the mail after they photographed your car and license plate. I think I'd rather stop and pay at the time I cross, but I'm old school.

I've heard it's inconsistent if you get tagged by the cameras. Also for those new to the area, or haven't been here since last year, I-265 on the East End does have a bridge and it's also tolled by the same system. Use 2nd street or the West end on I-64 to cross without tolls.

After driving 6 hours, paying $4 for a direct route doesn't seem all that bad.

Depends. When visiting our son in Houston, each camera that photographed us on the highway leading up to his town from east of Austin all the way to Houston was a charge of $5 since we were out of the area plus the toll for that stretch of road. Round trip we ended up paying almost $100 just to visit family over one weekend. About 8 cameras each direction plus the meager tolls. It sucked getting the "Traffic Toll Violation" bills in the mail from two separate toll authorities.

I'm glad I only live two hours away...
