WonderFest 2017's programming is gonna be out-of-this world! It's not on our website yet, but here's a partial list of daytime guest talks:

Star Warriors: 40 years of ILM and Star Wars
The history of STAR WARS and the company formed to bring its dazzling vision to life is literally the history of Special Effects in modern film, and we’ll be joining veteran FX modelers Bill George, John Goodson and Kim Smith for a journey that began in the miniature and photochemical era of STAR WARS and 1977 to the latest retro-flavored installment ROGUE ONE that returned us to a galaxy far, far away…

Galactic Heroes: The USS Enterprise Restoration
The biggest modeling story of 2016 was the painstaking restoration of the original STAR TREK filming miniature at the Smithsonian, and you’ll join WF guests and expert modelers and historians Gary Kerr, Bill George, Kim Smith, John Goodson and Rick Sternbach for a look at their magnificent efforts to bring the original 11-foot “Big Eâ€￾ back to life the right way!

The Mothership Has Landed: Joe Alves
Legendary production designer Joe Alves and author Dennis Prince discuss and celebrate the OTHER genre giant event from 1977—Steven Spielberg’s CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND-- and unveil their new book "Joe Alves' CE3K Production Scrapbook"-- a WonderFest exclusive release detailing Joe's remarkable Oscar-nominated set and design work for the beloved sci-fi classic!

Colin Cantwell: Dream Designer
Meet the man who literally gave first form to STAR WARS’ iconic rebel X and Y-fighters, the Empire’s sinister Death Star, Imperial Cruisers and TIE Fighters, and the Millennium Falcon! Colin was a designer and prototype model-maker for George Lucas’ groundbreaking 1977 space fantasy and his astonishing career also brought him into collaboration with Stanley Kubrick on 2001, Steven Spielberg on CE3K, and work on other genre films ranging from AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS to WAR GAMES and BUCK ROGERS.

Sara Karloff: Boris’ Curtain Call
WonderFest welcomes the beloved Sara Karloff back for a tribute to her father’s final years! From the 40th anniversary of everyone’s favorite stop-motion monster rally MAD MONSTER PARTY and the groundbreaking LP release AN EVENING WITH BORIS KARLOFF AND FRIENDS, to his brilliant turns in Michael Reeves’ THE SORCERERS and Peter Bogdanovich’s TARGETS, we’ll discuss his unlimited love of work and his fans in the closing years of the 1960’s…

Damn Dirty Geeks: Frank Dietz and Brian Howe
Join longtime WonderFest fave Frank Dietz and his special guest actor Brian Howe (WESTWORLD, THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA) for a live-audience podcast event right before this year’s Rondo Awards! Classic horror, Alien encounters, Final Frontiers, Galaxies Far, Far Away and that planet where apes evolved from men are all on the agenda, so don’t miss it!

Blade of Honor
Join series star Brandon Stacy (STAR TREK NEW VOYAGES: PHASE II, AMERICAN HORROR STORY, TERMINATOR GENYSIS) for a special screening of the exciting new independent sci-fi series BLADE OF HONOR—and see the final performance of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’s original Apollo, the late, great Richard Hatch as Admiral DiCarrek.

More to come!
