Three of us Seattletonians are planning to drive to Louisville this year, with a minivan full of models. It'll be an experience, I'm sure! ;)

Going for the first time.
When I was ten, I read sci-fi in secret and was ashamed if I had been found out. Now I read it openly for when I became a man, I put away fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

My usual co-travelers have other plans this year so I'm either going myself or passing this year. I would entertain those interested in sharing a room and ride share with anyone coming from the MN or along the route...

I had a great time attending last year and meeting several forum members. Alas, that was probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me because I had a certain company paying my way, which I quit last autumn. I'd love to go again someday and nerd-out more intensely, but I doubt I ever will.

Then again, I am sure people would say, "Oh shut up, Greg. You get to attend the jibungous hobby shows in Japan." Well true, but the atmosphere is completely different. Seeing Japanese twerps stampeding through the doors and practically shoving each other to buy up resin bewbs at the WonFes in Chiba is not quite the same as a friendly atmosphere as the Wonder Fest in Kentucky.

Greg.

Atleast you got to attend once.

Haven't been to a local Con in ages. Prefer Tokyo Big Sight over Makuhari.

Jafcon was my Fav.

And it looks like Brad, Mr. Badwrench, and Dan, Jonas Calhoun, won't be coming but Doug will finally be able to attend!

Perhaps we can meet up for the next All-Japan show in Big Sight in September.

So, it looks like we're going to have a reduced CoMMiES contingent this year, then?

I'm planning to be there but it's still a little up in the air. It'll be a lot more
expensive for me now that I'm in California, since it's too far to drive. A lot
depends on if I've found employment by them. If I do get to go, I hope to
be working behind the Starship Modeler tables again. That's the plan anyway.

My wife was almost going to be there, but we also just bought a new house, so she wants to stay home and enjoy the tranquility without me being around. That's okay, now I'm picking up Griffworks along the way, so all is good.
