I can't make WF this year after all :(

Post by Jim NCC1701A » Fri May 06, 2016 12:52 am

Hi guys,

I'm really sorry but personal life has stepped in and bit me on the arse, so I won't be able to make it to Wonderfest - or the US - this year.

I'll be out of commission from next Tuesday NZ time for at least two weeks, possibly more but hopefully not or my job could be on the line.

Fortunately I should be able to get my vacation leave (already booked that) moved to start from next week.

Sorry to you guys in the suite, it's going to mean a little more for each of you to pay unless you can get someone in to take my place.

Sorry again for the short notice, I know WF is less than a month away now.

Now I just need to see if I can get my flights cancelled and get some money back from that.

Jim.

I hope that you are going to be alright - dealing with real life at times is a massive pain in the arse!

Going miss seeing you!

Jim, thats a bit sad.

Still, perfect chance to jump over the ditch for the Aussie Model Expo on 10-13 June. While our Sci Fi section is a bit on small side compared to WF, it is the biggest show in Australasia :D

This is probably the biggest issue I have with getting to WF lately, it is being held too close to the Aust Model Expo dates and I am on the organizing side of that show.

Cheers

You guys are the best!

Got home a short while ago from the AA camp to find a care package waiting for me - I'd asked on another forum if someone could get me a WF and SSM shirt and a SSM pin, and that'd I'd pay for those and the postage.

Lakespeed told me that you fellas had chipped in, but I'm overwhelmed. FOUR shirts, a RI mug, WF pen and the SSM pin.
And, to show my soft side, a lovely card with great sentiments from you all.

Thank you so much :)
