The cold cathodes I have here at home came with an inverter which can be used for either one or two cold cathodes (two plugs).

I`m using those too, they`re perfect for me and my Canon Pixma inkjet printer!

MS Paint is OK, or Paint Shop Pro, or you can even import them into MS Word or Powerpoint, unaltered. Unless of course you are using a Mac, in which case I have no idea what you’d do :? Marco….? It is pretty simple: Open the pics in your prefered photo software, Adobe Photoshop in my case. Chan...

Not for me, while working with a Mac... :)

Sorry, can't do the write up until a lot later tonight. In the meantime here is a link to full size scans of the pylon mods and the rod. Click on the "View Full Size" link below each one, right click and Save As... DON’T print through Windows Picture And Fax Viewer, Internet Explorer or...

Cool idea, and it fixes the "awful gap of secondary hull top because of pylon attach points"-problem. Would you mind to e-mail me a 1:1 scan of the bend rod? This way I don`t have to do the measuring again you already did... modelers can be lazy sometime... but why invent the wheel twice? ...

I only used it in small areas, no brush strokes there.

Normally I use semigloss or flat, but right at the moment I'll use gloss for a current project: A Viper Mk II, in "museum condition", like in the beginning of the new Galactica series.

I don't bother with the other stuff, I brush that on... (and no thinning needed) I use this stuff too (500 and 1000) with no thinning. In fact I guess that thinnning it will work against the thing Mr. Surfacer should do: Close small defects (holes, scratches, seams) due to its thickness (you decide...

I'm not sure what you're asking. Can you elaborate? Have a look at Jshmus' Alternate History: Model Example thread. That's perfectly eligible, and has no diorama background. :? Uh ? - Strange - i would never say that this is a good example for a "what if"-model! This is an example for a &...

Do NOT get yourself all wrapped around the axel with nit-picky definitions. Ok. 8) My two cents are that the model should be self-explaining, so that you don`t NEED the description to see what is different in the related timeline (like a Kirk-figure with vulcan ears, or an ID-4 city destroyer vapur...

The history has to be different than the timestream that really happened, whether that timestream is the one we inhabit or a fictional one. So, in your example above, an alternate history for Perry Rhodan would be that Perry went to the moon but did not find the Arkon spaceship. BUT in that Perry-e...

Uhm... "alternate history" regarding to what? I mean, each SF-story ever told is alternate history regarding to our timeline, for example: Perry Rhodan was the first man on the moon (Not that guy with the name "Armstrong" ), and so he found the crashed Arkon-spaceship and founded...
