There's really no reason to lay out why it's crap, the fact is that Aztecs are crap. No line control, inconsistent spray patterns, constantly breaking and having to be sent back, clogging of the tips, too light of a body, etc, etc, etc. Several hundred comments about it being a POS is pretty conclus...

Images Do not post in-line images, regardless of their size. They count against our bandwidth, for one. Just as importantly, not everyone has a highspeed connection - and loading images only slows everything down for those on a dial-up. Instead, use a link to direct others to your images, like: http...

The retarder is a must for all of the Gunze enamels (or whatever they are). Their thinner helps, too. FOr cleaning I use lacquer thinner (cheaper). I couldn't get rid of the webbing until I used the retarder, now I never have the problem anymore. Proper cleaning of the surface to be painted is a mus...

Unbaked Sculpy will attack plastic like liquid styrene cement, with much the same results. Boiling will warp the styrene parts in the time it will take to cure the sculpy. What you wanna do is make the part removable from the plastic, bake it, then glue it back on. A little SmoothOn universal releas...

That's not silicone, it's polyurethane. You could use it, but the molds would have to have a good layer of releaser on them to use urethane resin in them. If the resin touches the mold without releaser, it'll be stuck to it forever. I use polyurethane rubber for my pot seals, and even with releaser ...

Use Ambroid's ProWeld. It'll glue ABS to styrene, styrene to styrene,ABS to ABS, and even works with acrylic. Dries super fast too. I decant it into a Mr. Cement bottle, I've had way too many spills over the years when it's in the original tall bottle. The Mr. Cement bottles are short, square bottle...

I had a chopper 1 for years and now have a chopper 2. Both have their uses, but neither is dead nuts perfect. The problem is that the razor blade likes to go off to one side or the other when cutting thicker stock leaving a crooked (not flush) cut. For thin flat stock it's the poo, get a whiff. For ...

I'd add that when you spray them, be ready for a deluge of paint. You can empty a can in about 1 minute if you aren't careful, and flooding the paint on is a problem you must be careful of. Start the spray from at least a foot and a half away from the surface of the model and adjust until you get th...

I put bb's in my bottles to break up that glob at the bottom. I painted some this past weekend in a 2 hour block of worklessness (wife forced me to relax). The Testors I used ran the gamut from perfect coats to thick sticky mess to water-like colored substance. All paints were new, so I'll assume Te...

If you're having to buy parts for your Badger all the time then you're not taking care of it properly. 99% of problems that I see folks having with airbrushes are from the lack of proper maintenance and care of the brush. Overtightening, clogged tips that cause the needle to split them up the side, ...

Nah, I really didn't like it before I dropped it either. Dropping it just made me finally give up on it and go back to my trusty Badgers. I dislike the big barrel, it feels like one of those Husky pencils kindergarten kids use. But no, I never liked it. Not enough control, a pain in the butt to get ...

I use my Badger 200 single action for most work. Simple, reliable, sprays perfectly. I use my SOTAR for any detailing or preshading work. I also have one brush for acrylics ONLY (Badger 200). You'll never get model paint, or any other paint for that matter, to go through that brush. That brush is for retouching photos and you can only put ink through it. First time you try to put model paint through it you'll destroy the turbine. Do yourself a favor and get a Badger 360. It'll do everyth...

Nail polish remover usually contains acetone as it's active ingredient. Slower to eat plastic, but still will eventually. But, I guess if you want a watered down acetone, that's about as close as you're gonna get. Acetone isn't a very good brush cleaner. It may get the paint out, but it dries out the...
