I plan to do mine Glow in the Dark, too, but I really wonder what I should do with the seam lines...
I thought about covering them with sheet styrene - BUT is "glow in the dark"-styrene available anywhere in sheets? I can't find any...

How does future effect cleear parts? I am working on a 1/1000 NX-01 and have decided to try future as a clear coaat. Do I need to mask the clear parts like you do if using a dull coat? Future is mostly used to make clear parts more clear - so it is the perfect coat for them. Masking clear parts bef...

Oh. From metric original to scaled imperial. Big problem is that calculators will give you decimal inch values. You got a decimal inch ruler? If so: 10 m = 5.467636 in. 1 m = 0.5467636 in. 10 cm = 0.0546764 in. 1 cm = 0.0054676 in. What kind of numbers are those??? 1 Inch = 2.54 cm 1 cm = 0.3937 in...

Re: grey and white primer
If you want the silver color looking as best as possible you should use a black basecoat. Gloss Black at the best.bosco0905 wrote:Newbie question. I'm going to use silver paint. My question using grey primer will the silver color be darker than if I use white primer?

That's the one I use as reference. The Key is that you need REALLY bright and very intense paints. I bought a set of Citadel paints to do mine but there are others available. I copy that. My explosion on the THUNDER CHILD-diorama was also painted with Citadel / Games Workshop colors. I gave it a br...

The only way I know of is to paint with a very light neutral gray and bring out the details with a pure white and pale gray wash. Otherwise the only way is to simply try for a wash and forget about the dry brush. Ok, that`s what I do in such situations. I`ll build a SATURN V for a customer in the b...

How to highlight a white paint job???
Hi fellows, every now and then I build a model that should be plain white. Well, not so hard. BUT if this white model has also fine details on it that should be highlighted with drybrushing, how can you do that??? Usually I try to use a vey light grey for the basecoat instead of real white then, but...

Or just glue the part in place where you want it. then drill a hole with a small bit in a pin vise, add a bit of rod stock, glue, and fill the tiny hole. Once you have the parts where you want them to be, pin them in place. For me this beats the frustration of predicting where you want them to be o...

How to paint "cut-edges" on a figure bust?
Fellows, at the moment I`m working on a small bust of a "grey alien". It show the head and parts of the chest of the creature, wearing a zip-lock shirt or jacket. The "cut edges" are very steep, so you can see them from the side. How can I paint those? Really like being cut throu...

Marco, that's a LOT of fiber strands! Way out of my DS9-league! ;) Great work! (As always, when you tackle a project) Thanks for the praise! :D I used approx. 800 fiber strands in that model, 70 alone for the hangar bay ( http://www.starshipmodeler.com/other/ms_al_11.jpg ) - that was necessary beca...

is this like a sticker or is it more like resin type stuff? if it's more like a sticker how did you get to look like the ship is showing through like that? It is more like sheet styrene, just clear and with the water-texture. The ship showing thorugh is simply a part of that model, the base is colo...
