How does future effect cleear parts? I am working on a 1/1000 NX-01 and have decided to try future as a clear coaat. Do I need to mask the clear parts like you do if using a dull coat? Future is mostly used to make clear parts more clear - so it is the perfect coat for them. Masking clear parts bef...

If you want the silver color looking as best as possible you should use a black basecoat. Gloss Black at the best.

That's the one I use as reference. The Key is that you need REALLY bright and very intense paints. I bought a set of Citadel paints to do mine but there are others available. I copy that. My explosion on the THUNDER CHILD-diorama was also painted with Citadel / Games Workshop colors. I gave it a br...

@Lichtbringer, "Future" can be purchased from the german online shop "Rai-Ro". If they haven`t it listed in their online catalogue send them a mail, usually they have it nevertheless. I purchased a bottle on the "Inspiraton Modellbau" 2007, it was 11,- Euro - expensive,...

The only way I know of is to paint with a very light neutral gray and bring out the details with a pure white and pale gray wash. Otherwise the only way is to simply try for a wash and forget about the dry brush. Ok, that`s what I do in such situations. I`ll build a SATURN V for a customer in the b...

Or just glue the part in place where you want it. then drill a hole with a small bit in a pin vise, add a bit of rod stock, glue, and fill the tiny hole. Once you have the parts where you want them to be, pin them in place. For me this beats the frustration of predicting where you want them to be o...
