The only gloss coat I know that yellows over time is Testors. I stay away from that. Future floor acrylic, whatever its name now, will yellow a bit after about 6, 7, 8, years or so. A few months ago found this buried in back of bottom cabinet. Label says copyright 2011 so it is not older than that,...

If I hadn't been able to tell by the Fujimi, the hex base shows it to be 1/72 or 1/76 model: I forget what Fujimi billed theirs as.
Hmm, will have to look up about the contest, haven't looked at any of the contests for ages.

Re: Extracting paint from a spray can
Somewhere at some time in both magazines and forums it has been mentioned that auto body shops often have tools to do this. Or maybe what was said back then is not true any more; I now wonder after poking around in Google a bit. did find this conversation, http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic...

Hey there! Basics ... hmm, that's a good question, and having been modeling for almost 5 decades I'm not sure how to describe the very beginnings of weathering because it is so intuitive now. Well, hey, here comes an idea - reentry, look at images of Space Shuttle after reentry and note where it app...

Since early 1980s I've used number 80, 79, 78, bits for various things in model trains such as adding metal grab irons to plastic body shells. Best I've been able to determine is that there is no easy way and bits will eventually break in much the same way as how cats will eventually hack up hairbal...

My dear friend SiaoMouse is back in the hospital for the fourth time with a recurrent brain tumour that affects his optic nerve, among other things. His girlfriend, Nikita - also a dear friend - is out of her mind with worry and loneliness, and I don't know what to say to her anymore. She is very d...

More landing legs and a wee bit on the cargo doors. Pic 63 PFT Phaéton 063 I'm afraid the landing gear pattern is a bit narrow ... oh, well. I didn't really fit anywhere else. Besides, who needs landing gear when at the High Port? (For those of you unfamiliar with the 'Traveller' game, every planet...

Hmm. From painting model locomotive boilers I have an idea except for the pearlescent part. A clean and glossy black finish will to some degree or another reflect the sky's blue when lit and viewed from the right angles; some examples from a popular rail photography website, http://www.railpictures....

Re: Source For Ultra High Quality LEDs???
Something I haven't seen mentioned as a factor here, and do not know enough different LED to know if it is a universal truth, is that different colors of LED take different values of resistor even running off the very same voltage and current source. I learned that from model railroad signal kits.

It was interesting to be off doing other hobbies for a couple years then check in to find this chaos.
And it is looking like the spammers are bright enough to pick a time of day - o dark thirty and the like - where there is less likelihood of a moderator being online at the time they hit.
