I know about the warnings and that good stuff. Assuming you have common sense and are not going to drink the stuff or mix it in the vessel that has the largest surface area possible for the greatest amount of fuming, I recommend MEK or methylene chloride. I bought some MEK a long time ago in a drum ...

It's good stuff. I use it with their airbrush medium and fluid medium in my Iwata. I also really like J. W. ETC's Matte Varnish thinned with water and denatured alcohol. I don't have my paint bible here at the office, but there is a thread floating around in here with the formula I use for thinning....

I use the Gorilla rubber toughened CA. Love the stuff. Sands nice, glues great, and cheap. Aaaargh... I had no idea it was rubber impregnated. I have been buying Loctite for all general use stuff and the expensive Wave stuff with the rubber in it for those times when I need quick filler and the Loc...

I had the same problem with my o...

Minor problem with Iwata HP-CH...
Wise and Sagely Modelers, I have a minor problem with my beloved Japanese steel Iwata HP-CH. Basically the air valve is sticky; when I press the release down, it doesn't immediately return to a zero point as it should. When it's not in use and I press down on the trigger, the problem seems slightly ...

I've never had it happen with resin but I have tried some of the lesser epoxy putties before discoveries Aves. When I sanded them, chunks would come out of them. Why? They weren't mixed properly. Why was that? The stuff was old and unable to mix properly by then. It's probably a lost cause at this p...

Whatcha doin', Kenny? :D I came up with some simple tools and figured I'd try to make a few. Specifically they're some sanding blocks and wedges. If they turn out well, I might sell a few to my brother in law; he is a carpenter who builds...no crafts really nice furniture by hand and needed some re...

Question about casting SmoothOn polyurethane RUBBER...
Wise and Sagely Starship Modelers, I have an odd question about casting SmoothOn polyurethane rubber. Can SmoothOn polyurethane rubber be cast using their RTV silicones as molds? I figured if their polyurethane resins can be cast using their silicones, there's a good chance the rubber could be molde...

I haven't used it but I used the Testor's stuff back 20 years ago as a wee lad. One thing to consider is the fittings. I know it used to be the case that the hoses and stuff for Testor's required adaptors to be used with Paasche, Badger and Iwata. I would humbly recommend an Iwata or Badger/Paasche ...

I can't say enough good things about IWata and Campbell-Hausfeld's regulators. Each are good, with the IWata being a bit smoother to adjust. The CH regulators usually have higher p.s.i. ratings than the Iwatas. Keep that in mind if want to use the regulator on a heavy duty compressor. I hope this he...

What pressure did you spray at? If you are shooting at much over 20 or 22 psi, and/or are too far away from the piece, the Future will begin to set up a bit before it hits the surface, hindering its self-leveling ability. Assuming this is a pressure/distance bug and you get it fixed, you can probabl...
