Ok 11 new pictures added to the album. The intent was to make an external model only. However i couldnt resist giving it a cockpit. THe lid doesnt fit perfectly but it looks close enough when not setting in place. The picture of my fingers holding it over the forward hump is about where i want it to...

Question for everyone if i post a link to the main photobucket album can you all see it? Direct links are out for the moment. I have made some good progress on the cockpit and the base turret shape and have no way of showing it. http://s306.photobucket.com/albums/nn268/HWRMKII/Cabal%20Hover%2...

Interesting look. Very remeniscent of something i have seen before just cant put my finger on it. BTW For all interested multi barrel guns are not " Chain Guns" They are miniguns or Vulcan cannons depending on the round size. Chain guns are normally single barrel and chain driven to some e...

Having almost exclusivly built AFVs I can't help but feel somewhat disadvantaged by the no tank models rule. I have a ton of greeblies though, I'll see what I can cook up. No more restricted than i am. Try going to another material. A block of balsa or modeling board to bulk out the dase shape.

Hey guys, Can anyone join in? Sorry I'm late to the party but this sounds like a blast, and I have a few ideas for a hover/anti-grav tank. If it's cool I'll start a WIP thread after I gather my partsez. :D It's open to all comers, the only rule is we shouldn't beable to tell what tank you used as a...

Could bridal veil work? If the ball and chain thing wont work for you how about slat armor with a wrap around of the veil to act as a smaller projectile stopper.

For weapons, I keep thinking about mast-mounted lasers and smarter mortar shells. A DP heavy auto-cannon for most other things, and a machine gun or three. BFGs are all well and good, but cruise missles will be getting smaller, smarter, and cheaper as well-I suspect the high end tank killer of 2030...

Good idea overall. You do have one hell of a shot trap on the lower edge of the turret though. ANy good shot hits that lower angled surface and it will go through the roof of the lower hull. Maybe a slat ring or ball and chain rig around the turret to help with that?

That is kinda what im thinking but a bit flatter. More merkava like but without being a merkava turret or even looking close to one. More like a flattened and thinner merkava 4 turret. When viewed from the top though the turret would be very similar to the core body in shape.

Still working this. Got the basic cockpit shape hollowed out and the hatch cover made. Turret is still an enigma to me. I dont want it to look like anything else out there. I have been toying with the idea of mirroring the overall shape of the central hull on it.

Im getting there. Just trying to make something that doesnt look like a conventional turret. As others have said this doesnt look like a conventional hovertank. In the end i want this to look like a thought out design and not a kitbash. The game art im basing it on helps but it doesnt fill in all th...

Stalk or mast mounted sensors are a neat detail idea. The Merkava has one commonly referred to as the "Droid". The German made Fennek also has a detachable mast mounted sensor unit on it. So theres a precedent set for anyone wanting to use it.

overall yes but the point is to make those bits not as easily recognizeable. Trying to break the floating Merkava or floating Leopard stigma here. So far alot of the other designs have really come through on this.

Oh and Butters remember that modeling board scrap i got off you a couple years ago? That is what makes up alot of the hull and engines on this. That stuff can be bloody useful.
