Thanks!

I think I'll stick with Aves and red spot putty.

Tamiya Polyester Putty?

I saw this stuff mentioned in an article in this month's FSM. I'd never heard of it before, and am a recent convert to the gospel of Aves.

Has anyone here used it? What are the relative pros / cons vs Aves or other putties?

Thanks,
Eric

$99... I think I'll stick with Mr. Surfacer bottles until I need a gallon of the stuff.
I bought a quart of Fill-n-Sand 131S on e*ay fro less than $30. If you don't need a full gallon, it's an economical alternative.

I have to interject here. DON'T use pure acetone as it will destroy a styrene model. Use acetone-containing fingernail-polish remover instead.Kenny Really? I've never experienced this. Of course, I don't apply acetone directly to the model, I use it to thin the glazing putty before application. I'l...

If you're referring to the red bondo putty, pure acetone works wonderfully. I thin it to a liquid state and brush it into tiny cracks and pinholes. Works great.

I've used a product that I learned of from the Hobby Fanatics forum (Anime figures) - Castrol Super Clean. I usually soak in that overnight, followed by a rinse and maybe scrub with comet or the like if necessary.

Assemble, then clean with regular soap and water before assemly.

Paint Filters?

Anyone know a good online source for some kind of filter to be used to strain paint before putting it in my airbrush? I remember seeing something once, but haven't had any luck tonight finding it.

Thanks,
Eric

I bought an Eclipse CS at Wonderfest last year as a replacement to my old Model Master unit. It was expensive, but I haven't regretted it.

It's easy to clean, sprays almost anything effortlessly, and doesn't clog.

Get one.

Decal Setting Solution causing stains?

I'm having a problem with my decal setting solution leaving a stain or discoloration around the decal after it dries. I'm using MicroScale's MicroSet over a base of Future. After the decals dry for an hour or so I can use a damp washcloth to rub the stain away, but this is dangerous at best as I fea...
