The batteries could also have built up a memory, in which case, they will not di...

Honestly,... only a few visible areas might need the level of detail that might be achieved by photo etching. The rest could be layered bits of styrene or acrylic built in a random manner. Say six to twelve inch long sections three to eight layers high. You could build practice pieces and when you g...

Hm. Perhaps I was wrong then. Wouldn't be the first time. Anyway, I just thought of something: airplane servos *can* be used, *if* you are willing to virtually destroy them. If you take off the casing and remove everything that isn't a motor or a gear, then connect the motor terminals...

The bulbs can be wired in parallel if one inverter can handle supplying both bulbs. Do not wire out put from the two inverters together... Be aware that the output from the inverters are AC, and up to 500 volts. The input to the inverters can be wired to the power source in parallel. Extending the l...

I draw an X across the point where I want the pin. Then extend the ends of the X onto the surface of the model.(arm/leg) The second piece is then held in place and the pencil marks are drawn across the joint. The new pencil marks on the second piece are then connected across the joint surface making...

In SoCal you're more likely to run across good foam in surfboards. If you can find a 'board maker, he'll have scraps left over (they cut the board shapes out of rectangular blocks of foam, so the 'corners' are discarded.) Not any more! The primary maker of the surfboard foam went out of business a ...

Your wiring set up as written needs about 16.4 volts. As written, you have wired the LED in series. If you want to use 6 volts, you will probably may need a 1/4 watt resistor in there at at least 150ohm, and all the LED should get their own positive and negative leads once the power enters the model...

Servos are not really stepper motors. As a servo turns, the gears inside also turn a potentiometer. The resistance feedback that the potentiometer provides then tells the servo board when to stop the motor. Now this known, if you just want to push a button to move the head left, or push a button to ...
