Make sure the connector is good and epoxied. I had one pop off a tube mounted down in a pvc pipe, even though I could get to it to after the model is disassembled for shipping, I was unable to make the repair. Everytime I plug in a docking arm it would pop off the connector. It was soldered on befo...

I just realized that I'd like to have a removable connection between the BOP and its base, so I can periodically remove the ship and swoosh it around the room  What kind of connector do I use? I am using a type N (?) power connector I picked up at Radio Shack. The male end will be mounted ins...

I am roughly following the article over at CultTVman for my BoP -- http://www.culttvman.com/dave_campbell_s_bop.html. I am also using the DLM flasher circuit. I am adding some yellow LEDs for the formation lights on top of the main hull and the bottom of the head.

What do you use to clean Alclad II out of your airbrush? I've been using Lacquer Thinner, but I don't know if that is too harsh on the rubber seals on the Airbrush. Anyone?? Lacquer thinner will eat your seals for lunch. I use a Badger 350 and have had to replace many an airtip seal that was rotted...

I found problems putting the Future over a gloss coat paint. That's the only time I get those cracks. I try to use semi-gloss when I can, and am now experimenting with putting a bit of Flat Base in the gloss paint, just to give it some coverage bite for the future. If the crackles are fine enough, ...

Yup, Crash, that's exactly how I find the Gunze and Tamiya. Paint in the morning, Future in the afternoon, let that sit overnight. I do paint in the basement, but there's a dehumidifier in the room. Do you ever have a problem with the Future coat cracking? I used essentially your process on a Haseg...
