Blinking LED lifespan question
I read in another thread that a blinking LED will have a shorter life than if you use a simple computer to control the flash rate. My question is, what if I wire a blinking LED to be the first in the series--will this shorten the life span of all the LEDs in the series? And if so, by how much? Thing...

Fiber optics flush with plastic, but need to have convex...
I made a mistake with my painting/fiber optics. During the painting I wound up cutting all the fiber optics flush with the surface (they're fixed inside with epoxy), but I wanted the ends to be convex, bulging out. Is there something I can use to create this effect?

BTW, I am using the clear plastic end cap from a ballpoint pen as the main navigational beacon on my TOS Constellation, and I wanted it to ap...

Personally The small PCB The blinking LEDs suffer two drawbacks 1) Lower lifespan - you'll need to replace it sooner 2) Non-adjustable blink rate - you're stuck at what the factory set up as the rate With the PCB route, you can customize the blink rate and the LED's will last longer As an example T...

What is the easiest way to get LEDs to blink?
Just need to get the running lights of my model to blink. I'm using 3mm LEDs. Unfortunately, I don't know the specs on them. The one thing I do know is that the red and the green are of different intensities, and if I try to run them in parallel from AAA batteries, the green doesn't go on, but the r...
