A lot depends on the construction of your paint booth, but getting a furnace filter big enough to cover the inlet of the air system and duct tape into place. If the system is open air with an exhaust side then it becomes more difficult. Arranging several like you were building a card house might wor...

I probably use 'tensile' strength incorrectly- what I was refereing to is what you called shear strength. I hate buildnig something and then having a part 'opo off when the model is stresses. I stick to epoxies (pun unintended) for resin kits and good old fashioned testors tub gell glue for styrene....

Personally I hate the 'super-glues'. They stick tightly but have no tensile strength- some stress and the part is loose with just dust. I like to use styrene plastic since it is what I have used most of my life and I know how to push it. Acrylic is great for some uses but it is harder to work with I...

Well it looks like I am going to have to go back to making a Latex mold for this current project. I do not have the funds to get a bunch of new materials just for a three castings. I will deal with making some new silicone molds and baking hem IF there are going to be additioanl casting fo rothers, ...

I used the Alumilite 'Quick Set' RTV mold and cured for 24 hours before using (the frakk'n instructions never mentioned anything about heat). I wll get some acetone tomorrow and try to get it cleaned up- I do not have a lot of materials to work with here so I would rather not waste some of the casti...

HELP! OK- I screwed up- the question is how badly. My second attempt for a mold I went with Alumilite Silicone. Mixed it to a perfect 1 to 10 ratio, used a set of Legos for the mold box. I was doing a one sided mold so I just poured the compound, placed the piece into the top nd held it down with m...

I would go with copper tape instead of this conductive glue. The sample I bought and tried (from the link above0 beaded up into clots and was not very conductive- I ran the metter on several lengths. It also does not stick to anything very well for being a 'glue'. It does work enough to decribe as t...

Rechargable batteries have to be replaced after time- that would be rather difficult with them built in. Inducting power is spreading- there are devices for recharging your cellphone/PDA/iPod things by just placing them on a tabletop. Those are recharging batteries, but the power transfer is the sam...
