Re: accurate At-At blue prints

The RPF is still probably your best shot on getting things accurate. There are blueprints out there but a lot of the details are wrong. I think the Star Wars 'Chronicles' book has some good references, there was also a hardback book about Imperial vehicles but I need to check to see if the ATAT is c...

Re: Glow-In-The-Dark paint for fiber optics /light pipes?

It could work but unless you chose a special colored Glow paint they would have a weird green tint.

You could try some fluorescent paint and set a UV light nearby- they would definitely light up then.

Amazon has a fair selection of Beam Compasses which are not too expensive- They also have a beam-type circle cutter which may work for 1:1000 saucers- https://www.amazon.com/OLFA-9911-Compass-Circle-Cutter/dp/B000BK7NWC/ref=sr_1_100?keywords=compass+drawing&qid=1561473398&s=gateway&sr=8-...

Also there could have been limitations of sfx to show a targeting grid on a tiny hand held display.

Re: 23rd Century Phaser with 21st Century Problem

I had gotten for Christmas from my wife a special edition Sonic Screwdriver- it was mute right out of the box and had swollen LR44 batteries in it. according to the equivalency charts 357's are a match. The unit never did work so we returned it to Amazon and got a replacement. When those LR44s swell...

Re: need glue for most plastics

My glue of preference is Flex-i-file's Plast-i-weld. MEC based so it doesn't melt your brain like MEK. For non styrene based you've got 2 options, Cyanoacrylte (Super glue) or 2 part epoxy. CA makes for a strong bond provided there's a smooth surface and it's not a low energy plastic like PETE, PTF...

I explored EL wire when I had a commission to create some display UFOs for a children's project. The main problem was that it did not put out enough light to appear glowing wi...

Gravity or siphon feed airbrush best?

I am going to get an airbrush to help celebrate my sixtieth birthday soon. I will be using it mostly for custom color spraying, don't have deep pockets so something simple and reliable with double action..

I see advantages to either gravity or siphon feeds, what are your opinions?

I just went low tech and wrapped the foil around the LED leads then used some heat shrink tubing to insulate.
