you can draw it on paper... say a hexigon, then get a cheep angle-finder from Home Depot.... {3 bucks maybe}

Then set your cutter to whatever angle it says.

I'm going with Alclad for the chrome parts of this kit.
Oh, well that makes sense . . . what's Alclad?

Testors ENAMEL thinner and ACRYLIC thinners do not mix at all.

I've poured them in the same bottle and one floats above the other.

Kind of a nice effect really

the instruction disc that came with my Aztec says enamals and mineral spiritis are okay ... should flush it out.

but lacquor over enamil has "orange peeled" my paint so I'm guessing they don't mix

Get the Primer Out

I love spray can primer. It just seems to be better than the bottle primers available. But obvious lack of control. Does anyone know of some trick to get primer out of the spray can for use with an air brush WITHOUT making a huge mess? Or any paint for that matter? Is there some accessory we can bui...

I emailed this morning to Trekmodeler because I couldnt' get an answer on the phone. I got a response the same day. Late in the day but same day {I guess he works by day and does this by night?} His first offer was to refund $110 because I had made a mistake and ordered the wrong thing. I wish someo...

yeah... been there. They didn't have the brand you mentioned, but I did find a very nice pearl white fluid paint by the Golden company. No review, still working with it. It would definately have to be air brushed, which I don't have....yet. that's my excuse to get one? Says to thin with water..hmmm ...

the ultimate pearl finish

next on my list of paints to test.... pactra brand racing finish number RC726 pearl white. FAIL No, let's be fair.... HUGE fail. It is an excellent pearl finish...texture. It comes out of the can blobby and leaves a pebble texture not unlike the Krylon textured paints. I mixed {shook the can} for 10...

Thanks for all the assistance :) Some I'll use... some I'll use on later builds. I've settled into the idea of just the lights, not chasers. 2 reasons. One: Space and working the board in and Two: I just got yelled at for how much I've already spent on this. LOL "Honey...! It wasn't just the on...

Product Review - Tamiya Pearl Clear TS-65

I've been trying the find the perfect pearl finish. Whether it's a paint, or a clear coat or an additive. And just as a friendly warning.... don't bother with Tamiya's spay can TS-65 Pearl Clear. It's not a true pearl irradescent finish. It's just glitter spray. Oh, the glitter is ground up really f...

Thank you. I hadn't consired regular household glues. I get caught up wanting it all to look "professional" so I forget that simple things sometimes work best..

I know some people use tape, but I don't trust tape to stay sticky in the long term so I never use it.

Glue over Paint

Noob question for you. Question : What glue do you use over paint? I know glues tend to disolve paint so how do I glue windows to the inside of a primered model? Reason for Asking : I'm doing my first attempt at lighting. Which means I've always just glued to the inside plastic. but now it's painted...

I've read a low-heat hot glue will hold them in place well.
Never done it, but it sounds reasonable.. and dries faster than 5 minutes
