I just got some Magic Smooth it is about the consistancy of curing carmel.I tried to thin it with water but it just clumped.How can I thin this stuff?

I recently purchased a LED Mirage with Boomerang and flame unit.I am horrified to note the Flame unit barrel,a thin rod shaped affair,is bent! How can I fix this?Will I have to fabricate a new part?

Can anyone suggest how I can ether make or buy premade a ratchetting joint for a resin kit.Soon I'll be getting my Gunhed kit and in order to display it I want to devise a way to make the model raise up or lower.To do this I need something to embed in the plastic that can hold the model up.
Any ideas?
