Before anything else is decided, we should hear from the members of BLoSSM, as to whether or not they are willing to undertake the daunting task of judging. Including me, that makes six entrants, so far. Raiser13, if you want in - you're in. I like to keep things simple, so as of 1 September of this...

Well, here's what I was thinking. ''Plates-In-Space'' Challenge 1) Use at least one plate (size, shape, quantity, etc., are builder's choice) as the basis for a “Sci-Fi thing” build. It would be nice if the plate was evident in the build. 2) Entrants will have one calendar year from 1 September, 201...

Who's ready for a new Challenge Build?

It has occurred to me that it's been a while since we last had a build challenge here.

What say you - who's up for it?

Thank-you to all of you for the effort you put into this thing. I hope it was fun enough to be worth it. Regardless, though - thanks. I know it was not easy.

Lonewolf, I apologize. My rant was never directed toward you, and I should have made that clear. I remember your posts from before WF (and had them in my mind even as I ranted) and I know you have way more LIFE to deal with than most of us ever have. Congrats on your house! :) I hope you and yours w...

Never again

I'm starting to understand 1/0's reluctance to start group-participation builds. I hate to say "You guys suck wind", but ... dang. I know that at least some of you who did this build went to WF this year - someone had to take the blessed models. I know everyone on the planet except me has ...

Also, what of their fate - who has them in custody?

I got a metal desk (Craig's List) with three drawers that can be attached to either end of the desk and a formica-surfaced work top. On top of that, I have a 1/2" thick chunk of plexiglass I got from I-don't-remember-where. The plexi is my cutting, drilling, paint-spilling, etc., surface. It is...

If folks want another crack at it, we've got time. As long as it gets back to me by mid-May for any final work, I say let's send it around again. What say you? I vote No. It's not that I don't have any faith in you guys, it's that I'm suspicious of Life. Last year it smacked us all pretty good, to ...

Continuing work on the canopy. I hope to have it done by next weekend. Who's next in line to receive this kit to work on it? And where are with the Bacqatcha? I will be going to WonderFest this year. I booked my room at HoJo's last weekend, so I'll be heading down to Kentucky with Cydonia on June 2...

Damn IT!!!!! I missed out on this... I'm kicking myself. As a member of the team responsible for the mighty (and apparently missing) Grabthar's Hammer - I would've loved another crack at this. If we do another one - please some one IM me! Jedi Dade (Philadelphia PA area) Since we are extending this...

She'll ship either Monday or Tuesday, and I'll send you a PM with the tracking number. I'm finally trying to dig out from under the crap-ton of stuff that's hit me this summer, and I need to get to work on the Lake Effect's cockpit section as well. The paper "mock up" parts for the canopy...

OK - what's a-happenin'? Just because we have got a year, that doesn't mean we don't still have to build.

Who has got what?

What are you doing to it?

Where are the pics?

You all wanted the extra time - what are you doing with that time?

I'd honestly go the other way around. Send the Bacqatcha this year and the Lake Effect next year. I'm gonna work on building a canopy for the Lake Effect, but there's really no way I can get all that needs to be done on this project finished and out the door by next week. WonderFest is two weeks fr...

I notice you folks are using an antique CRT monitor part as a dome like structure on your build. Do you know what kind of plastic it is? or the recycling number? I think, with the first Traveling Models, it came down to the person who showed any interest in keeping it, got it. Since they tended to be large, it really came down to whomever had the most shelf-space available. :)

He can't - he told me (on the phone) that he was unable to use the pm system - it wouldn't select for him, or something. You need to call him. Leave a message and your phone number - when he calls me it's been about 8pm or so.

I'll keep an eye out for it. Should I work on it, and then send it to Gundamhead? Or should I fire it back out the door to Gundamhead and then be the final hands-on before it heads to the CoMMiES for display at WonderFest? I've got a decent airbrush station set up, with a Paasche H for base coating...
