Sorry guys. Technical issues. Like technically my camera is a POS right now. So, sorry for the crappy pics. I'll try and take better ones later. I haven't got as much done as I want yet. But I have most of the parts standing by. I decided to concentrate on just one of the two that Bill made. That wa...

And the package has arrived. :D And a surprise - Dual build. I was expecting one, but got two instead. I thought the second one was a parallel build for yourself Bill?? If they are both to be part of the challenge... That poses an interesting quandary; Build the same with slight variances as an A mo...

I use Canadian Tire Auto Primer (scratch filling and sandable). And I can lay that stuff on like there is no tomorrow. And the detail is still there. It dries quick, and snugs down real nice. Doesn't clog my sandpaper (I wet sand anyways), and takes a polish. It is a little hot though, so I have to ...

Run your knife around the tube a few times scoring it. Then flex it at that mark, should snap off clean. To be sure, measure long, and then sand the end smooth.

Other than NOT needing to soak the parts for weeks, looks fine. Try a different primer. I use an auto primer for ALL my modeling. It's a little more aggressive, so test it out on scrap first. There are some primers known as "etching". These have an even MORE aggressive bit. Should be good ...

1. Timescape in Ottawa sends it to Johnnycrash in Ontario 2. Johnnycrash in Ontario sends it to Mottom 3. Mottom sends it to NX-17000 4. NX-17000 sends it to Blap 5. Blap finishes the model and arranges for the model to show up at WF. This is the list that was proposed. Works for me. So Bill, what k...

The international mailing system is gonna be clogged with all of the holiday packages and cards, making a delay in getting the project to someone even more likely. Actually, we have NO cross-border teams. Well, as far as I know. We had enough canucks to make our own team. :D Go Canada!! I'm also go...

It will harden. Depending on the ratio of styrene/solvent, it could be hours to weeks. The solvent must completely off-gas.

Grab some plastic sheet. Grab a chunk of wood. Shape the wood to the size you want minus 2xPlasticThickness. Glue plastic to wood. Sand smooth and paint flat black. Done. The wood is to give it a strong core. It's just a box after all. By the way, the dims should be in a ratio of 1x4x9. The products...

I thought about using that glue, do you brush it on? my concern was that if it was too thich it may cover un even and cause a crappy uneven finish. Not if you brush it on evenly, and avoid any puddling or pooling. It's pretty thin, and flows well. Best to experiment with scrap parts. The stop start...

Re: Guilding the hull...

anybody ever do this? Not a full hull, but bits and pieces. I would suggest using a proper Metal Leaf Adhesive. It can be gotten at just about any decent craft store. It is ready to use right from the bottle. Also, only do a small section at a time. The adhesive is applied, then allowed to dry (abo...

My answer still stands. What you bring up is a separate question/procedure: Preparation/Preservation of questionable quality/age decals before application to model. One could also say that there are a multitude of other things missed as he didn't mention how he was prepping the surface plastic to be...
