I know of this trick and I know it works. I have always questioned one thing. If the decals yellowed once will they again? Only this time they will be stuck on a model! Any thoughts?

20 years ago I was in a hobby shop telling the guy about an old revell fighter I was having trouble getting the original decals to settle. I told him I had already tried Micro Scale system, Solveset etc. An old guy who hung out at the store chimed in to use White Vinegar. I tried it and it worked. S...

Boy, this is nostalgia! My old machine gave up the ghost in the early 'ninties, after seeing use since it was new in the sixties. I remember in the pre-internet days when the things were going for upwards of a hundred bucks. I paid forty for mine 20 plus years ago and thought I was getting a great ...

I have had one for 20 years and would not trade it for anything. We airplane modelers learned early on, that you could make really great airplane canopies using the Vac Form. I do punch all of those small holes because I don't believe it will work properly if the plastic is just sandwiched in the fr...

Re: An air compressor is an air compressor is an air compres
I've been wondering for a long time if ineeded to pick up an air compressor from the hobby store or order one online specifically for hobbying or if I could just go into a hardware store and get one as they seem to be a helluva lot cheaper. The consensus lately i've seen here is that you can buy an...

Doh
This is what I get for comprehending what I read  I thought this was an older model so it could also have been the white paint. Since it was only Friday then the paint is not the offender. How old is your Future? The stuff I have that yellowed in the bottle is at least a decade or more old. Ch...

Re: Future yellowing?
I noticed yesterday the Ent A model I Future'd on Friday has yellowed some. What causes this and can it be fixed? -Shawn :smoke: I am a true believer that Future DOES Yellow. I have a bottle and it clearly is NOT clear. I know guys who will debate this with me but this is my belief and I have proof...

Be careful with what ink you use. My experience has been, unfortunately, not good. The ink went on very well. even gloss coated ok. Upon application of the dull coat, it ran and smudged and turned a lighter color than what it had started out as. Overall effect....bad. :( Me upon finding said result...

Paasche H Babeee!!!!!
The Paasche H (available as a set with fine, medium, and heavy tips) is an excellent do-everything brush, though you probably won't be able to spray super-fine lines with it. I use an H with heavy tip to spray undiluted Future. The fine tip works well with thin paint for adding shading and weatheri...

HI USSARCADIA,
Thanks for letting us know your results. So I guess the Future tip was a good one.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Airbrushing Apple Barrel
Anybody have luck airbrushing these paints from Micheal's? Do they thin enough to run through? I've mixed up the appropriate color in these for the Jemmie BC but can't seem to get an exact match in Tamiya. I tried once to paint an aircraft using these and my trusty Paasche H3. They have a bad tende...

Paint
Go to the railroad dept of your hobbyshop and get Floquil "Old Silver" or "Platinum Mist". These paints dry and by that I mean you won't burn your fingerprints into the finish like silver paints will do. I have used old silver to obtain various natural metal finishes. As is it lo...

Works like a charm
Hey Mightymax, How are those draftsman pens work? I have never seen one in operation. I would guess they don't plug into a USB port? Very simple. You adjust the nib (point) with the thumbscrew. The wider the nib is apart the more glue will flow. I usually do not have mine open very wide. Onc...
I've probably got half dozen bow pens floating around here (drafting tool junkie) and have thought about using them to appy glue. How well do they work? Do you need to clean glop off the end very often?
As far as cleanup of the ruling pen. Really I seldom ever get any glop on them. ...

Yes But
If your Future cracks, your model's not ruined. Dip a cotton swab in Windex and buff out the cracks. You can do the same for Future runs or drips. :) But, shoot Future in very light coats over gloss coats to avoid cracking in the first place. Make sure enamels/lacquers/calf manure/acrylics or whate...

Future Not so bright
I stopped using Future for this very reason. I had trouble when sprayed over Gunze. Everyone says the uncured paint thing. The way I build I have to tell you that freakin paint was cured long before any Future touched the model. I now use Future on the floor where it belongs and pony up the dough fo...

Re: How long should Aves Apoxy Sculpt last?
Does it go bad? I just unpacked it after being in its sealed container for a year, and there is a weird grease like substance on top of the "B" putty. :( I had some I had for 8 years that I had still sealed in a drawer. I finally found something to try it on and you know it still worked! ...
