Re: Vallero
You were close. Its spelled Vallejo. I've only got four bottles of the stuff and have never sprayed them with an airbrush. They have a line called Vallejo Air and those are the ones premixed for the airbrush. I have two bottles for some MK VII Vipers I'm working on but have yet to use them. Lots of ...

Re: Reco needed: single action gravity feed Brush?
My bad. I was too lazy to go to Google before I posted.
Apparently its a thing.
I've been in this hobby since I was a preteen and never heard of a single action gravity fed airbrush.
I stand corrected.

Re: Gravity or siphon feed airbrush best?
I've been using an Iwata siphon fed airbrush for years now with no problems even at low pressure.
I've always wanted to pick up a gravity fed one for the ease of switching out colors and perhaps tighter lines when I'm painting gaming minis.

Its an enamel wash so you can use enamel paint thinner or mineral spirits.
I purchase the bigger bottles from the hardware store.

Re: New Airbrush/Compressor
I spray both enamels and acrylics at lower pressures than most folks. I'm usually around 10 to 12 psi. My mixes are more like 3 parts thinner to 1 part paint. Ive read that adding a drop of flowaid to your thinner with acrylics helps so I picked up a bottle of that. You also might have clear paint d...

I am using it on a resin kit where I joined two parts... About a week or so ago I used for the first time Aves' Apoxie Sculpt to make some fillets/joint reinforcements on a sci-fi kitbash from plastic models and for filling the backs of some Monogram/Revell 1/32 Apollo astronauts which will some da...

Re: The Abbey of Aves
There usually are some direction on how to do what you are asking on the package. Perhaps you could look up the MSDS fact sheet on that product as well for additional info.
Personally I've only used the traditional JB weld and I use a rag to wipe off excess that I don't want before it cures.

Re: The Abbey of Aves
Glue the resin with CA or 5 minute epoxy. I would not trust Aves for glueing two halves on its own. Its great stuff for filling gaps and sculpting. The Aves goes on smoothly with a drop of water and just using your finger. You don't need special tools for sanding once its dry, all you need is the sa...

If your project doesn't have to be very rigid then foamboard works great for making structure.

Sometimes on long decals you might want to cut them into smaller more manageable peices. I use a combo of micro set and micro sol from microscale. I also will use future to float the decals on as well with great success. I have a bottle of Solvaset but haven't used it yet. It was a recommendation fr...

I thinned them with Testors thinner and future. The future helps give the paint a harder finish when cured in my ...

I have always poured my second half shortly after brushing on the mold release. No problems here. I wonder if the second pour went around the edges and down the sides of the first half and stuck to that. I have had that happen before so I brush a light coat of release agent around the sides of the f...

I would recommend two airbrushes. One for general coverage of large areas and one for finer stuff. I own a siphon fed Iwata DA that sprays beautifully and an Aztec DA that has interchangeable tips for larger projects. The key is the thinness of the paint and air pressure. I did play with a Grex pist...
