What Bar said... mix for at least two minutes, but more would not hurt.

Also use plain ol rubbing alcohol to smooth and shape the stuff...you can use water, but i find alcohol makes it less sticky.

Flexi files or sanding sticks are the way to go...I find sanding sticks have enough bend in them to do things like nacelles and such, but flexi files are good too.

It happens. I had a chip in the nacelle strut of my starcrafts refit. Not big, but enough to be noticed. Aves solved the problem and if I wouldn't have mentioned it, you would have never known.

I was looking at my little viper and wondering the same thing...although I am going to weather mine.

I wonder if doing somthing similar to doing cockpits would work...stuff the area with a damp tissue, paint then remove.

Rich Wieght shouldn't be an issue if you used the celluclay, even on the dimensions you mentioned. You don;t need to fill the base with material, you apply it to the surface of wht ever your base is. My Sky One was doen by simpy applying the material on top of a wood base. You don't have to lay it o...

Kylwell,

What brands are you using?

I've had good results with Krylon Primer and their colors.

I use alot of Pewter Grey for Starfleet Ships and I've been using a mix of greens for Klingon and Alien ships with no problems.

I do the shake thing and the water thing.

That's the beauty of Aves, my monochromatic friend. You can fill seams with it. You can sculpt with it. You can even repair broken and chipped parts with it like I did on a nacelle strut on my StarCrafts refit. "Thou shalt take two equal proportions of the Holy putty and mush them together... b...
