Busy, really busy. I'm going to try to update my website to put links to various places with modeling articles I've done. And I need to do some writing for John, and so forth. Plus, work's busy. But hey, it's warming up and about time for bicycling, so the world isn't so bad after all. Except for t...

The only colors I've ever had trouble with is red. Red always goes yucky after a while. I tend not to keep bottles of it around long. Otherwise, yeah, I 've got bottles of Tamiya and Gunze which are 6 years old. I know 'cuz that's how long ago the hobby shop closed. :) DAMN THE RED!! :D

Paint in the morning, Future in the afternoon, let that sit overnight.

I do paint in the basement, but there's a dehumidifier in the room.

Re: Acrylic Paint users: A question!

Ok, so I should do one thin coat, wait 30 minutes to an hour, repeat until base coat is done, wait 3 hours, do future coat (for example). Wait 3 hours, do detail painting, rinse, wash, repeat? :) and thanks everyone, for your input. :) Pretty much. Your mileage may vary. Will be lower in California...

Re: Acrylic Paint users: A question!

Sorry, I am rather new to the hobby, compared to most of you fellas. :) How long should I wait to let my acrylics cure? Don't be sorry. perfectly reasonable question. It really depends on the type of acrylic paints you're using, but the typical hobby acrylics (Testors Acryl, Tamiya and Gunze Sangyo...

Re: Acrylic Paint users: A question!

How long does it take you guys to finish a project? I only ask because I work with mainly Trek stuff, and i see guys saying " I finished this over a weekend, etc". As far as I know, acrylics take 4 days to set up. Am I wrong with that? So it takes months for me to finish one project. What...

Re: What do you use to prime your resin kits?

What type of primer do you use before you paint your resin kits? I have Tamiya primer and Mr. Surfacer. I know that many use Mr. Surfacer 1000 thinned with something... but I'm afraid to use it as I think it could really damage my airbrush. I have heard some use automotive primers. You have any fav...

How long does it take for acrylic paint to go bad?

I have a bunch. I am getting ready to get back into modelling after a year off and I am hoping I don't have to rebuy the stuff I have. The majority is testors Acry and Tamiya acrylics.

Is this true? Has anyone tried this? What about Tamiya acrylics?

Re: Airbrushes

As much as I hate to admit it, you might want to take a look at the two most recent issues of FSM. They did a fairly comprehensive two-part article on airbrushes. The January issue had the single-action ones, while the February issue focused on double-action ones. They were broken down by ma...
