I'd go with Alclad II - the R/C car crowd has been using polycarb shells over their car bodies for a long time, and Alclad's even got instructions (at the bottom of this link) on how to apply:

There are several ways to go about working with foam - if I were doing the subject that you've selected on a low-cost approach, I would: - make sure that any recesses / access holes were carved into the foam before doing anything else - get a container of light-weight acrylic based spackle that is w...

Doing curved or rounded shapes with just styrene is moderately difficult, but certainly not impossible. Option 1 Hunt various Dollar Stores / thrift shops until you find a useful near-matching shape amongst the sundries & knick-knacks. Get it home, cover half of it with styrene, and dunk in VERY...

Re: Sanding foam

Oh I will add sanding foam(both styro and blue foam) is a PAIN! I bought a charcoal paint respirator and full goggles to wear while doing it since the dust is so fine! I see I should have gotten a paint coveralls as well! Fix that this weekend. I had read a magazine article written by modeler who'd...

To me, it's implied that it will stick to clean resin as detailing with no problem. http://www.avesstudio.com/images/stories/PDF/2Part.pdf For structural strength, I would ...

A small vacuum pump will take awhile to pump that chamber down, but otherwise, it looked fairly good for that price. And, I zapped the Ebay link. It against the Boa...

Several years ago, I had a similar issue, and the local Home Depot pipe fittings area had the parts I needed.

I did bring the parts in with me so the store staff 'genius' working there at the time could clearly grasp precisely what I was looking for, and 5 minutes later, had the correct fitting.
