Oil, water-based, pastel...all three work great. All are easy to wipe away and clean if you think you've made a mistake. I like how quick the pastel dries but I don't know if that's enough to give that technique the edge. Try them all and decide for yourself.

Not sure about their primer but others here and I have thinned Mr. Surfacer 1200 about 70% and shot it through our airbrushes. I would experiment with different percentages on scrap plastic, or a crucible model, to see what works best.

I think I read in that thread a while ago that sticking the model in the freezer helps shrink the plastic a fraction and makes fragile the bond. Never tried it but it makes sense.

$100.00 pin vise.....
I think I paid $8.00 for a jewelers pin vice that can hold bits in sizes .0 - 2.5mm. 2.5mm hole makes that a pretty big danged window in this hobby.
For $100.00 bucks buy a Filet Mignon dinner at your favorite restaurant.

Future as setting solution

Reading up on laying decals down I came across a method where guys are watering down Future, perhaps 1:1 ratio, then brushing that on the model where the decal would go. Once the decal is ready it is placed onto the wet Future. When that dries then more Future is AB on top. Any body try this method ...

I also sprayed straight lacquer thinner through my AB to clean it out and it shot out great. Unscrewed the tip and cleaned off the needle real fast and the whole process was much easier then I anticipated.

Kylwell that's definitely helpful. No mention on the scaling down once their created in a program. Is it a matter of shrinking the % down in the printing window ( an option my Mac has) then printing out on white paper and repeat this process until the size looks correct? Seems tedious but would work.
