Marco-- Have you thought about drybrushing with a mix of white and chrome silver? Not sure how it would work, though. Has anybody thought about using Titanium White drybrush over a basecoat of white mixed with a couple drops of blue? I used that as a base on a Crown Vic police car, and it never yell...

Don,

Maybe hit your local thrift shop, and pick up some cheap clocks. Or, as was mentioned above, go with a wheel interface, instead of a geared interface. Just a thought.

GREEBLIE ALERT!!!

If you have an Interplak rechargeable toothbrush, the protective caps that go over the brushheads look like they'd make great warp nacelle caps. Plus, AFAICT, they are polystyrene, and not PETE or some other kind of useless plastic. :8)

How far is it from where the compressor is to your workshop? If it isn't too far, buy an airhose, run it up through the attic, and drop it down inside the wall, where you can connect your regulator and moisture trap, and, more importantly, your airbrush! Or, if you're really ambitious, do it with co...

Orion--

To avoid chest pains every time the thing starts, fill up the tank, then unplug the compressor, until the pressure gets too low. At that point, plug her back in. At least you'd know when the compressor is going to switch on, and not scare you out of a year's growth each time.

JC--see if you can locate Castrol Super Clean. It is a purple, super-strong degreaser type cleanser, that will take the paint off of just about anything. Dunno if it is available in Europe, though. IIRC, you can do enamel on vinyl, provided you lay down a good primer coat. The best for vinyl (I think!) was Krylon sandable primer.

Can anybody confirm that?

Let's not forget alligator clamps--specifically, alligator clamps on a steek! Work great for holding small things you need to paint. They also work great to hold parts while you're gluing, or just to attach to your earlobes to help you stay awake during those late-night thrashes!

What about some Future/Johnson's Klear mixed with a bit of pearl powder and some Tamiya flat? Might not be perfect, but something to hink about.
