I've actually used boiling water effectively to soften the glue joints of various toys that I've needed to disassemble.

I got swiped by the Photo dept. today. Did you ever look inside of a disposable camera? Sweet greeblies for Ti! :D Just be careful of the ones with a flash. That little capaciter packs a jolt. Ohh...you aren't kidding there! One of them gave me quite the surprise some while back.

I think we all know the opinions of "he who shall not be mentioned"

On a brighter note, I just scored a shopping bag of busted toys from the remnants of a yard sale.

Happy,happy greeblies! :8)

Myself, I only use acrylics in my airbrush. I find that even with thinning, too many enamels are just too dense to use in that way.

Re: scratch this!

I found a "see and say" and split it in two. I also added two engines, Styreen window candles. and the base is from an old skittle bowl. the top is an old portable wall light fixture. Just needs some more greebles. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p201/thx1138_2007/seeandsay001.jpg With...

How terribly tragic. If you were to send it to me, I'm sure I could find some means to honor it's remains... Why, I'd even pay postage in order to ease your suffering.... 8)

As a scratchbuilder/kitbasher, I find that a good primer is essential. Oftentimes, the underlying color of various greeblies will try to work it's way through, particularly if they have an unusually smooth or waxy texture despite sanding. My solution is a coat of great Rustoleum primer, which is vis...

I do simulated damage, but only on scratchbuilt material. Truth be told, having spent a few years playing with damage effects in 1/48th scale, I found that it was WAY too easy to take away more material by tool or heat than you would initially expect. That said, when I work scratchbuilt, I definitel...

No. Illustrator, Freehand, & CorelDraw are vector design applications. There used to be a 3D vector program called...called...frak, can't remember. Another Adobe product that's all I can remember. Was that Adobe Dimensions, by any chance? As it turns out, Adobe is putting forward a new version ...

I think it has a lot of good features at a reasonable price.

Another place to look is at pet stores.

Many pet stores carry fine-grit sifted sand specifically for use in terrariums and reptile cages.

I know this because I have a pair of leopard geckos. 8)

Hope this helps!
