Re: foam core?

I've seen a few sites that show progress pics on scratchbuilds, and several of them make mention of using foam as a core. Are they reffering to styrofoam, like the kind used in those cheap ice coolers, or something else? It's kinda late for me to use something like this in what I'm building now, bu...

when you buy it open it and drop in a small (clean) stone.

store upside down as above - when you need it shake thoroughly to mix the pigment and carrier (which is where the stone helps out!)

You can also add liquid medium to thick paints to thin them down without loosing cohesion.

this was from another forum and not all relevant but saves typing it out again: "paint" = medium, pigment and binder: pigment is the colour, medium is the "glue" binder ties the pigment to the medium. Generally most artist 'acrylic mediums' are a binder-medium composite: a milky-...

Running Light circuit - help needed

Theres a bit of a story to this so please bear with me: About a year ago i produced a lit landing-pad for a wargamer which featured running lights that ran in to the center from each corner - 5 lights in a row so that they went 5-4-3-2-1-repeat. I used a commerical kit ( link ) bought from maplins b...

0.010 to 0.080 in 1350mm x 660mm are the largest that i know of retail... anything larger and you have to go to the manufacturer and buy by the pallet load.

£9.60p to £37.20p for cost.. plus they are VERY heavy so a large courier fee for carriage.

big enough?

wear a graded fume mask when casting plus latex gloves at all other times (deanting, mixing etc), dont let it get on your skin, dont inhale fumes (get a proper activated charcoal mask that will actually filter out the fumes, and keep it in-date), dont inhale dust (use the P3 cat for dust). dont have...

you do have a problem if you try cutting off photo-etch on a cutting mat as the etch will dig into the mat before the cut happens, so i always trim that off on a piece of metal (on top of the mat). I use about 3 A2 mats, about £7.00 each, they tend to last me a year or so before they get consigned t...
