Re: need glue for most plastics

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanoacrylate ... Cyanoacrylate glue has a low shearing strength, which has led to its use as a temporary adhesive in cases where the piece needs to be sheared off later. Common examples include mounting a workpiece to a sacrificial glue block on a lathe, and tightening...

Re: Best online source for hemispheres?

I did discover one online manufacturer...it wasn't too expensive.I think the 24" dia. acrylic domes were somewhere between $100-$200?I don't recall exactly. The 36" domes were closer to $300.00.The domes come with a flange that (in some cases) needs to be removed.I think they provide the d...

Re: Decals ripping during slide off

Another "just in case" step you can perform (provided you have the equipment) before doing anything with the decals -- scan the decals into the computer. That way if there *is* a problem, you *might* have a chance to create new ones (assuming that transparent/translucent nature of inkjet w...

Re: Decals ripping during slide off

as dizzyfugu stated, how decals behave vary from case to case. When in doubt, try one of the more easily-replaced or less-noticeable ones on the sheet to see how well it goes. If you immediately run into a problem, then putting a clear coat over the sheet to stabilize them is needed -- and you proba...

Double check the ID and dimensions on the original batteries against the LR 44 specs, and the holders. There are a lot of very similar batteries out there and a lot are mislabeled. Should be close enough...AND DO NOT THROW THEM IN THE TRASH. One of those things will kill a baby. Unpleasant stuff in...

I remember buying some Torengos tortilla chips -- just because the container looked like they could be a basis for a cargo container for some sort of spaceship. The tortilla chips were a bit bland and little too salty for my taste. https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080425141231AAJFTP0&a...

I've used the fluorescent/glow-in-the-dark lacquers by Gaia Notes. They glow in the dark, but they aren't like...

Estes, the model rocket people, makes a wonderful cylinder marking and fin alinement kit. I have one and it is worth having if you never build a model rocket that takes engines. It is great for keeping the lines straight on cylinders. I'll second that. For larger sizes or longer lengths, you could ...
